Latin document dated Murviedro, 17 May
1490, receipt from Salomon Cavaler to Graciano de Monsuriu, attesting payment
in a transaction involving three Jewish merchants (Salomon Astor, Salomon
Cavaler, Salomon Çaporta), a Muslim butcher (AmerAlffarras), and three
Christians (Graciano de Monsoriu, Bartholomeus Castellnou, and Salvador
Iacobum). Illustrated in catalogue.

The Hours of Doña Violante (Yolant).
Use of Rome, in Latin and Catalan;
newly-discovered. iii + 259 + ii leaves; some losses. Miniatures, historiated
initials, armorial initials. Contemporary blind stamped leather binding over
wooden boards, within a red velvet chemise. Thirteen single-page Netherlandish
miniatures (by the Master of the Dresden Prayerbook and the Master of Edward
IV), some details overpainted and additional decoration produced in Spain in a
Valencian school showing influence of Juan Rexach; c. 1480. Illustrations in
catalogue (front cover; pp. 56-59). A major discovery of an artistically
significant manuscript possibly associated with the aristocratic Centelles
family.

The whole volume was formerly in the collection of Herman Scheuch, but was later
divided and leaves and sections were sold separately into various private
